These photos were taken on the main beach at Surfers Paradise just moments before all swimmers were ordered out of the water due to a lightning storm. It poured down and we ended up wet taking shelter under the awning at McDonald's in Cavill Mall.

These photos were taken at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary. The birds of prey show also includes a couple of owls and is definitely worth going to. It is informative and interesting to watch.

brown tree snake

We came home one evening late last year to find a visitor on our back deck.
It was quite long - definitely over 1 meter. We quickly checked our Australian Wildlife book in hope of identifying our visitor. While it states that Brown Tree Snakes are venomous it also says they are not usually dangerous to humans as their mouths are so small.
Whew!!
